Changing times

Back from the mountains and straight into a dynamic London newsroom - what a shock to the system! Having spent only a week away I felt so out of touch. Despite having paid €4.20 for a copy of The Times twice a week, and sneeking into internet cafes to take a quick peek at the BBC news homepage, so much had happened in such a short space of time.

Zimbabwe remains in no mans land, unsure of who to look towards for leadership, but the situation has become more and more complex with every day that passes. Pro-Tibetan protestors showed that they were not just spitting venom but were willing to act upon their views in order to instigate change, and the London Mayoral race is hotting up and becoming almost as closely contested as the race to be the American Democratic candidate.

It's certainly an interesting time to be a journalist, and a time of potential international development. Just those three examples that I've highlighted could go any way in the next couple of weeks, and I for one will be watching closely.
